PRAYER

One Prayer Does Not A Christian Make...

You’ve heard it said a thousand times from the church pews to Instagram, and beyond. Just ask Jesus to come into your heart. Pray this one prayer, and then your magically saved...there is just one problem. This so called evangelism is found no where in the Bible, nor did Jesus’s disciples ever ask anyone to pray such a prayer...

In Matthew 3:1 we read 1In those days came John the Baptist, preaching in the wilderness of Judaea, 2And saying, Repent ye: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand. And Jesus said in Matthew 4:17 Repent for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.

He did not say to ask him into your heart. The apostles never said this either.

The problem with this approach, is your preaching a false Gospel of Free Grace. Where you can be saved by a one time get out of jail free prayer...and then hurry off to that Super Bowl, or Taylor Swift Concert....worse than that, the fruit you were trying to bear did will not remain, and will remain unchanged, because the flesh is weak.

The reason todays Churches look like the world, is because Pastors today care more about memberships, than souls. Member's may fill the collection plates on Sunday...but one prayer saves no one. The Spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak. How do we overcome weak flesh? By praying and reading or being in the word daily. No one drifts into Holiness...it is only achieved by striving to be conformed into the image of Christ by the work of Daily Prayer, Bible reading, and listening to and being obedient to the guidance of the in dwelling Holy Spirit...

We are told to pray without ceasing in 1 Thessalonians 5:17.

Prayer is the breath of the born-again soul. Therefore, a Christian without prayer is a Christian without breath...

In this episode of the One Sheep Podcast we are going to expose why the lack of prayer reveals a proud and self-serving heart, not to condemn you, but to awaken you, to call you back from serving yourself, to communion with the Lord.

This message is not for the one who denies God with his lips. It is for you who praise him with your lips on Sunday, but ignore him with your life from Monday thru Saturday.

You know when I was a younger man. I served in the Army.

They had a training schedule for new recruits, and they do in the regular Army units too. It lays out your days activities.

You Know...0530 wake up, 0600 first formation for accountability, and then Physical Training.

Nice Frank, what does that have to do with the Christian life?

I’m glad you asked. I mention this sliver of time in my life, because I have never been to a church that had a schedule for new disciples.

Many preachers just tell you to read the Bible. Start with Mathew and read on from there. I think most people give up on reading their Bibles, when they get to the genealogies. Look, all I am saying is...Why not have them read the Epistles, Galatians, Corinthians, etc., to know what a new creation should strive to look, and act like?

Prayer is talked about even less than Bible reading, and most Christians, do not pray, except in emergencies, over food, or if they really want something...

Why would we not explain personal intimate prayer time to new Christians?

You know, It is my sincerest hope that everyone who listens to this podcast gets something out of it that helps them to grow closer to GOD, and stay on the narrow path.

Because, every day you fail to seek GOD in prayer, your actions speak louder than words.

Your actions say, I can handle this on my own, I don't need you. This is basic atheism 101
