Tic-Toking Your Way To Heaven?

All this and more right after this…

You know most of us use social media daily, and while most content is, well wishing, birthday greetings, marriage and baby announcements, the updating of distant friends, and relatives, and some content we post for business. I know with all those ads in your daily feed you would think it was all business. Simply put social media is a way to market yourself, and your ideas.

We all do it, so why single out any one piece of content, right? Yes, why comment on Tic-Tok, and Tic-Tok styled videos?

I know with all those ads in your daily feed you would think it was all business. Simply put social media is a way to market yourself, and your ideas.

Well, as Christians we are supposed to be ambassadors for Christ. Let me ask you this one question? How many ambassadors from any country have you seen on Tic-Tok or Instagram dancing and singing? If an ambassador of any country of this fallen and broken world will not do that for the culture, why would an ambassador for Christ do such a thing?

Is Jesus Christ not Lord of Lords, and King of Kings? Is Jesus Christ not higher than all the kings and ambassadors of this world rolled together? I personally see it as disingenuous, and fake, maybe the rest of the unsaved world does too? Is your aim to cheapen the Gospel? Is your Gospel message that you are better than the unsaved because you think you know Jesus? Perhaps you’re only doing it for views, likes, and followers? Maybe you’re using GOD’s name to selfie worship yourself, while hoping for viral fame?

Let me say this, before I get a servers load of hate emails. I am not singling out millennial’s to pick on them.  Social media, like trends, transcends all generations of Americans. I love all people, and am afraid for this generation as they do not have the luxury of time on their side.  It pains me to see my younger self in many of them. I… was fortunate that GOD is patient, longsuffering, and time was on my generation’s side. However, the time is shorter today than it ever has been in the past. When I mean shorter, I am specifically talking about Jesus Christ’s return. Bad men and women in politics, are not even hiding their evil intentions anymore, so bad things are going to continue to happen and at a frenzied pace.

Just in the news recently

Pope Francis has called for a one world government to help combat issues such as “climate change”.

In his encyclical, he urged world-leaders to put aside politics and form a new system of global government.

As part of his 192 page missive, Pope Francis said: “Recent world summits on the environment have failed to live up to expectations because, due to a lack of political will, they were unable to reach truly meaningful and effective global agreements on the environment.

He argued that the United Nations does not have enough power and must be granted full governmental control “for the good of humanity”.

It is worth noting the Pope did not make a tic-tok styled video presentation for the United Nations, for fear of not being taken seriously…and that is the crux of the matter.  If you want people to take you, and the Gospel seriously, maybe you need to take it serious first.

Surprisingly, most Americans say they are Christians, but few follow that up with deep, heart-felt, life-directing commitments, under the guidance of the Holy Spirit.  This is true of all generations, and it remains true of young adults in the U.S., two-thirds of who identify as Christian.  “It is easy to call oneself a Christian, but much less common to be known as a Christian.  Simply, making a music video on Tic-Tok, or Instagram does not make one a Christian, and is definitely not sharing the gospel.

I know your probably thinking where’s the harm in it Frank, lighten up.

Well let’s look at Matthew 7:21-22

21Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.

What is the will of the Father in Heaven? It is for Christians to share the Gospel with the lost and to do the will of the Holy Spirit?

22Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?

Let’s stop right there for a moment…

Many wonderful works, you mean like dancing up a storm to the latest hip music all while pointing to the sky and mouthing because of Jesus?.  Yeah, that’s what ambassadors do, right?

23And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

"Just believe on the name of Jesus, and you'll be saved" is a common message of professing Christians on Instagram, and Tic-Tok." Others say the gospel is that God sent His Son to die for our sins. Still others condense it all down to three words, "Jesus loves you" that fits nicely on a bumper sticker - and they believe they are spreading the "good news"!

Thanks to social media the religious scene in the Western world is in chaos.  Decades of secularist thought have taken a heavy toll on Christianity.  The Western World that used to be quite religious and moral, is in disarray. The state of Western Christianity has become so secular that missionaries from other continents are trying to preach the gospel to Europe and America!

Less than half of Americans strongly believe the Bible is totally accurate in all its teachings today- and these figures are far higher than in the rest of the Western world! If you do not believe the Bible is the Word of GOD…How are you to do good works? Did he just mention good works? Oh No he didn’t he is a heretic…Stop before you jump to conclusions here the message out. If this is your first time here, please listen to some of other one sheep podcasts. This podcast is not my idea, it’s GOD’s. So let me continue.

Since all are to be judged according to their works, what if one claiming to be Christian has no works to show when God clearly expects them?

James 2:14-26

14 What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him? 15 If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food, 16 And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit? 17 Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.

18 Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works. 19 Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble. 20 But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead? 21 Was not Abraham our father justified by works, when he had offered Isaac his son upon the altar? 22 Seest thou how faith wrought with his works, and by works was faith made perfect? 23 And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of God. 24 Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only. 25 Likewise also was not Rahab the harlot justified by works, when she had received the messengers, and had sent them out another way? 26 For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.

Listen, No amount of works can justify us before God. Justification by faith in Christ's atoning blood makes one legally free to access God and to begin a relationship with Him.

Will God reward those who can show no works at all, or provide salvation to those whose faith is so weak it produces bad works?

The road to hell is paved with good intentions.  Many a soul with sincere intentions has gone down this path, only to find out they were sincerely wrong. If you want to know if your works are good works you need to read your Bible, not listen to the words of men.

So why is putting on a show on social media not good for Christianity. Simple, the motivation of such a thing comes from the heart of the person doing it. They do these types of works in order to appease their own conscience, not because they consulted the Holy Spirit. Their works are vain in order to gain favor, popularity, and to be accepted by the world.

In James 3-5: we read

3You ask and do not receive, because you ask amiss, that you may spend it on your pleasures. 4[d]Adulterers and adulteresses! Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Whoever therefore wants to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God. 5Or do you think that the Scripture says in vain, “The Spirit who dwells in us yearns jealously”? If you have the Holy Spirit dwelling in you I find it hard to believe you could still seek your own glory on a social media network, while claiming to be an ambassador for Jesus Christ.

Many people actually believe that this plandemic was an accident, and so they have decided to carry on marring, and being given in marriage. You can easily substitute anything for marriage at this point to include Tic-Toking. The verse could just as easily say, Making Tic-Tok videos and sharing Tic-Tok videos. This verse is telling us, people in their unbelief, are wasting time carrying on as if they have all the time in the world. Unfortunately, they will be caught off guard when the next wave of evil is put in to action. Making funny videos is not more important than being salt and light. You cannot be salt and light while continuing to sugar coat the Gospel on social media platforms.

1 Corinthians 11

31  For if we would judge ourselves, we would not be judged. 32  But when we are judged, we are chastened by the Lord, that we may not be condemned with the world.  Since most people will not judge their own actions. If they have it, they should be yielding to the Holy Spirit. They should be reading the word of GOD, praying, and sharing the Gospel daily to grow in their relationship with GOD. You cannot know GOD, if you do not interact with him or do his will daily. Speaking of sharing the Gospel please check out our, What Must I Do To Be Saved Straight From The Bible Podcast.

You know Howard Pittman made a statement that has stayed with me since I heard it. He said that  in his life after death experience.  In one 15 min span of time 2,000 people had died and yet only 50 had made it into the tunnel. The tunnel being the highway to heaven the angels allowed him to see. One thousand nine hundred and fifty people went the other way. It bothers me tremendously that only 2 ½ percent made it into the tunnel to heaven? He did not realize what the angels were trying to get him to perceive. So they told him that this was the spiritual readiness of the world at the time of his death. They said had Jesus come came back on that day. Only 2.5 percent were ready to go home. So I guess my question for you is this? Instead of making Instagram, and Tic-Tok Videos on how great it feels to be in Jesus.  Shouldn’t you be trying to live like those 50 people?
